360 video recommendations

Here’s a new set of recommendations. Be inspired to go beyond what you’re used to. All available to watch on the Go. (note that the Youtube experiences need to be saved to your own custom playlist that you will then access in the YoutubeVR app)

Your Spiritual Temple Sucks is one of my all-time favorite cinematic immersive experiences ever. The combination of creative concept, script, execution and custom-build 3D camera and stitching solutions is a synergistic orgy of perfection.

Only available to watch in the IncrptionVR app in either the Featured or Narrative Sections.

The &Design series on SamsungVR is a testimony to how effective the 360° immersive experience can be to telling complex stories. They’re all great but my favorite is Death/Dress, which introduces us to fashion designer and death practitioner Pia Interlandi who works with dying clients to make beautiful garments for them to enter the afterlife. Through fashion design, viewers rediscover death as "natural, undeniable, inevitable and at times, beautiful." Co-Produced by Sibling Rivalry Studio and Curious Octopus.

Here’s an entire playlist full of worthy experiences.

And individual Youtube pieces, all worthy.

The WAYBACK is a virtual reality film series designed for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. It aims to recreate popular, positive moments from their past - taking viewers back in time and immersing them in the sights and sounds using Virtual Reality. This is one of the must unusual and powerful cinematic immersive experiences I’ve seen yet. The attention to detail is unbelievable.

This series of 3 experiences in Africa, shot with the Yi Halo and stitched in Google Jump, are incredibly well done.

Ex/Static - It’s only available on SamsungVR (in the Vimeo section). This is a good example of how to translate an art installation piece into a 360 cinematic experience.

This one is an hour long! From WGBH/Boston… Incredibly ambitious.
